What do a glittering diamond and a lead pencil have in common? Diamonds are very hard and the graphite of the pencil’s tip is very soft. These two different substances contain a wonderful proof of creation called carbon.A rough, unpolished diamond is the hardest of all minerals. For this reason, a crystal diamond is used to cut and to drill all kinds of material and is also used as an abrasive to smooth surfaces.

Planning your wedding music involves more than just “picking songs you like”. Other things to think about include: What will your friends like? What will your parents and their friends like? And perhaps most importantly, what seems to work at the event as the DJ reads the crowd to keep your guests up and dancing on the dance floor. At most events, the best way to please everyone is by having the DJ play a good variety of music, something for everyone. A good mixture of fast and slow dance songs, Oldies, Pop, Rock, Top 40, just to name a few. As a bride and groom sit down to choose their music, there’s a little math involved: A typical wedding reception lasts 6 hours. Most songs are between 3 and 4 minutes in length, so a DJ can play about 15-20 songs per hour. This means that he’ll be playing approximately 110 songs at a 6 hour reception.

Prominent long term care insurance carrier Penn Treaty recently announced that it will discontinue offering the “unlimited lifetime” benefit option on all new policy forms as of 1/1/2007. Will other insurance companies follow suit? We think so, as the industry adjusts to changes in the all-too-real world of care and care giving.
With rising baby boomers life expectancies and broadening offerings in the care delivery systems “unlimited lifetime” benefits simply pose expanded and uncertain risk for insurers. This risk naturally translates to pricing which places “unlimited lifetime” benefit out of reach for the average consumer, so the insurers are opting to offer benefits which are limited to a fixed number of years payout or a limited “pool of money” payout.

While trying to get a college education, you may find that you are going to need more help than you are eligible for with financial aid. The good thing is there are many companies and organizations that understand that need and help by giving scholarships. There are many scholarships available and if you are Hispanic, there are many that offer Hispanic scholarships.
Many companies offer scholarships for different reasons. Some are hoping to gain your loyalty and have a future employee in the making. Some colleges pride themselves on their student-faculty ratios. They use this as a cornerstone of their pitch to students. These numbers, however, can be very misleading.
I’ll shed some light on what where schools get their numbers and what this means for potential students. Regardless of the student-faculty ratios presented to you, be prepared to do some extra research to fully understand the learning environment at a potential college.
Student-to-faculty ratios have very little to do with actual class. Some schools insinuate that low ratios mean smaller classes and more personal attention from professors. This may be the case, but a low ratio doesn’t guarantee more one-on-one work with your teachers.
